CUBS OPEN DISTRICT AT HOME AGAINST CEDAR CREEK

The Brenham Cubs will open district play tonight as they host Cedar Creek in the Homecoming Game at Cubs Stadium.

The Cubs enter the 13/5A DII opener with a 2-1 record, while the Eagles were 3-0 in pre-district.

Cubs’ Head Coach Eliot Allen says he and the Cubs are itching to kick off district play…

Both teams return a significant number of players from last year’s squads.

The Eagles, who just missed out on the playoffs, bring back 10 starters on defense and six on offense.

Brenham prepared for district with a loss to Magnolia West (13-38) and wins over Waller (38-13) and Houston Heights (42-38).  Cedar Creek picked up wins over Austin Reagan (47-0), Austin Akins (34-12) and Fredricksburg (20-12).

Coach Allen says the Cubs have got to step up their game now that they’re in district…

Kickoff is set for 7:00 at Cubs Stadium.  At half-time the 2019 Homecoming Queen will be crowned.

The game and activities can be heard live, beginning at 6:30 with Ed Pothul and Tommy Lange on AM-1280 KWHI, FM 101.7 and www.kwhi.com.
