The Texas A&M System will officially welcome the RELLIS Campus in Bryan with an all-day event Saturday.

The community is invited to the RELLIS Campus Festival and Open House, beginning at 2 p.m. with a helicopter flyover and ending with a fireworks display at 8 p.m.

Throughout the day, there will be tours of the 2,000 acre campus, as well as booths with A&M System agencies and representatives, local fire departments, and Blinn College.

There will also family friendly activities such as a petting zoo and inflatables, while food and drinks will be available in the food truck alley and beer and wine garden.

Several new buildings were opened on the campus earlier this year, including the RELLIS Academic Alliance Complex and the Texas A&M Transportation Institute headquarters.

Texas A&M officials also announced recently that the campus would serve as the central testing hub for the Army Futures Command, with the addition of a $130 million combat development complex.
