TEXAS RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL OPENS SATURDAY

  

The 45th season of the Texas Renaissance Festival gets underway this Saturday in Grimes County.

The Festival runs from October 5th through December 1st on Saturdays and Sundays and Thanksgiving Friday.

The Texas Renaissance Festival is the largest of its kind in the nation.  According to Festival officials, this year’s event has 350 shops and 35 stages over 55 acres.

Events include the “Fire Whip Show”, falconry by the “Birds of Prey”, music by the “Gypsy Guerilla Band”, jousting from “Hanlon-Lees Action Theater”, and more.

In the festival village, they are artisans, craft smiths, jewelers, blacksmiths, glass blowers and more.

The festival is open from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and each day will conclude with a royal firework show.
