18-WHEELER ROLLOVER SLOWS TRAFFIC ON HIGHWAY 290 NEAR BURTON

  

Traffic near Burton is slowed down, after an 18-wheeler rolled over this (Wednesday) morning on Highway 290.

DPS Sergeant Jimmy Morgan said the accident occurred around 11 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Highway 290.  According to the Brenham Fire Department, the accident happened near the Dollar General.

Crews are still at the scene, working to determine the cause of the accident.  Morgan said the eastbound roadway of Highway 290 has been shut down, but passenger vehicles are being rerouted around the crash site.

According to Morgan, the driver of the 18-wheeler suffered minor injuries.  No word was given on any other injuries, or if any other vehicles were involved.
