CITY OF CALDWELL CONTINUES SEARCH FOR NEW MAIN STREET MANAGER
The City of Caldwell continues its efforts to find a new Main Street Manager.
The position has been vacant since past Main Street Manager Michelle Mahfouz left around April.
City Administrator Camden White, who was hired in May to the position, said the city has interviewed several candidates, but has yet to “get the right person”.
White noted that the city also had to tend to the city administrator position for a period of time, following the retirement of former administrator Johnny Price in April, so the city could not focus solely on the Main Street position.
According to Susan Mott, Executive Director for the Burleson County Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber now oversees the Christmas on the Square and Scare on the Square events, which were previously managed by Caldwell Main Street.
Despite this, White reassured that the city is still looking to keep the program going, and is developing long term plans so it can make it a successful one.
White said there is not necessarily a timeframe for finding a new Main Street Manager, as the main goal is finding someone with a good understanding of the program. He added that the city may even rework the position into that of a community development coordinator, with a focus on the Main Street program.
