RETIRED BRIGADIER GENERAL TO SPEAK AT BRENHAM VETERANS DAY CEREMONY
A retired Brigadier General and Commandant of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets will speak at this year’s Veterans Day Ceremony in Brenham.

Brigadier General Joe Ramirez, Jr. served 31 years in the military, commanding soldiers around the world and serving in leadership positions in various joint and operational commands.
A native of Houston and a graduate of Texas A&M University, Ramirez received his commission in the United States Army Field Artillery from Texas A&M in 1979, as a Distinguished Military Graduate.
Ramirez was the Deputy Chief of Staff for United States Central Command during Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, and was the Deputy Division Commander for the 2nd Infantry Division in the Republic of Korea. His most recent assignment was Deputy Director for Strategy, Plans, and Policy for US European Command in Stuttgart, Germany.
Ramirez possesses numerous military awards, including the Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Korean Defense Service Medal, and the Parachutists Badge.
The Veterans Day Ceremony will be held Monday, November 11th at 11 a.m. at the American Legion Hall at Fireman’s Park. KWHI’s live broadcast of the event will begin at 10:45 a.m.
