BURTON CITY COUNCIL TO DISCUSS ANIMAL CONTROL ORDINANCE, ROAD REPAIRS

The Burton City Council will discuss an updated animal control ordinance and road repairs at its meeting tonight (Tuesday).

The council will reopen discussion on adopting an updated animal control ordinance.  Talks on the ordinance were tabled at last month’s meeting, following discussion on whether it could be properly enforced.

Also at tonight’s meeting, the council will consider an inter-local agreement between the city and Washington County, to provide for repairs and improvements to the corner of West Texas and North Railroad Streets, by the post office.

The street corner has been prioritized by the council and Mayor David Zajicek as one of several city streets in need of repairs.  Zajicek told the council at its last meeting that he had reached out to the county Road and Bridge Department to help with repairs to some of the city’s streets.

The council will also consider:

  • Approval of the West Texas Street bridge project quote dated August 12th from HDU Services, to install a new 6-inch water line on the bridge.
  • A resolution providing for votes allocated for the election of the Washington County Appraisal District Board of Directors.

The council will meet this afternoon at 5:30 p.m., at Burton City Hall.

  1. How about putting something in for the recyclable trash in burton. Instead of driving in to Brenham. A trailer with assorted bins be nice and simple
