DRAINAGE UTILITY CHARGE TOPIC OF TOWN HALL TUESDAY IN BRENHAM
Brenham residents are invited tonight (Tuesday) to a town hall meeting to give their thoughts on the city’s proposed Drainage Utility Charge.
Brenham city officials say the charge, along with an associated Drainage Utility Fund, will establish a dedicated and sustainable funding source to provide for the operation, improvement, and maintenance of the city’s drainage infrastructure.
City officials proposed a drainage fee of $3.75 per month for residential utility customers, at a workshop in October. The charge is based on the cost of drainage services and the contribution of stormwater runoff by residential and non-residential properties. The maximum monthly charge for a non-residential property, based on impervious area of the parcel, would be $300.
More information is available on the city’s website, http://www.cityofbrenham.org/city_government/departments/public_utilities/drainage.php.
Tonight’s town hall meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m., at Brenham City Hall.
