Brenham native Michael Harrison will present “A Day in the Life of a Rocket Scientist” at 6:30 p.m. in the Student Center Banquet Room.
In his presentation, Harrison will discuss his time on NASA’s Aura Program, when he was asked to replace an engineer who unexpectedly retired just a few months before the launch of a spacecraft.
During Harrison’s near-40-year aerospace science career, he has worked primarily in the design of data acquisition and satellite guidance systems. He has spoken to clubs and civic organizations for more than 30 years, presenting on space technology subjects like quantum mechanics, dark matter, relativity, and “the big bang theory”.
The program is being hosted by the divisions of Business and Mathematics; Engineering, Computer Technology, and Innovation; and Natural and Physical Sciences. The program is free and open to the public.
