BELLVILLE’S CALEB SMIDT FINISHES 7TH IN NATIONAL FINALS RODEO

Bellville’s Caleb Smidt placed high and took home a nice wad of prize money at the recent National Finals Rodeo (NFR) competition in Las Vegas.
Smidt finished seventh overall in tie-down roping. Through ten rounds, Smidt, the defending NFR champion in tie-down roping, won $38,500.
Smidt’s best times at the NFR were a 9.6 in round seven, finishing fifth; a 7.7 in round eight, placing fourth; and a second-place finish of 7.2 in round nine. He did not place in rounds one through six and round ten.
In the 2019 Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association’s Ram World Standings, Smidt ranks fourth in All-Around Cowboy with winnings of $210,189.
