GRIMES CO. JOINS GROWING LIST OF “GUN SANCTUARY” COUNTIES
Grimes County is the latest county in the area to declare itself a “Gun Sanctuary County”.
At their meeting last week, Grimes County Commissioners approved a resolution stating “citizens should be able to maintain the right to keep and bear arms without fear of judicial retaliation”.
According to the resolution, Grimes County government “will not authorize or appropriate government resources for the purpose of enforcing or assisting in the enforcement of any element of such acts, laws, orders, mandates, rules or regulations, that infringe on the right of the people to keep and bear arms”.
The resolution recognizes Grimes County residents’ right to bear arms, saying its intent is to “protect victims rather than the criminal from any prosecution of defending an individuals’ rights and property”.
Grimes County joins Waller County and over 35 Texas counties that have passed similar resolutions.

I feel so fortunate to have been born and raised in Texas. Guns have always been a part of my family’s life. We hunt and we have them for protection. All one has to do is to look at what the state of Virginia is attempting to do with legislation that will not only ban numerous guns and magazines but will also allow the current REGISTERED gun owners to have their lawfully purchased guns seized. Very scary. However, 85 counties and several towns/cities have stood up to say that they will not enforce that legislation because it is literally unconstitutional. I feel blessed to be a Texan and I am praying for the law abiding gun owners and the state government of Virginia. We the people must stand up for our rights or while we are sitting down, they will be quickly ripped away. God bless Texas.
Amen for Grimes County’s courage to stand up for the United States Constitution. Our Second Amendment Rights must be protected. I applaud our county!

Our county commissioners focus on just raising taxes more and more. They don’t get the big picture.
You are so right! They also give BIG business free rides from taxes, but not their citizens and homeowners. !!!!
