NO INJURIES IN BRAZOS CO. SHOOTING INCIDENT

No one was wounded Tuesday in an exchange of gunfire between Brazos County sheriff’s deputies and a rural resident.

Chief deputy Jim Stewart says two deputies responded to an early-morning alarm at property on Koppe Bridge Road.

After finding a broken window and discovering the front door unlocked, deputies went inside.  Meanwhile, the resident said he heard people inside the home, but says he did not hear the deputies announce themselves over the sound of the alarm.

Shots were fired, but no one was wounded.

Stewart says the alarm was triggered by a guest leaving the home, who also left the front door unlocked and the front gate open.

The investigation into the incident continues.
