A Brazos County detention officer had to be treated for a concussion and broken nose after she was attacked by a woman being booked into the Brazos County Jail.

25-year old Danielle Mitchell faces a slew of charges, including assault on a public servant, harassment of a public servant, resisting arrest and assault family violence.

Mitchell was arrested by Brazos County Sheriff’s deputies early Thursday morning after an attack on a man at his home.

Deputies said Mitchell became combative during her arrest; allegedly kicking the patrol vehicle, kicking the rear window and shattering the glass while in the patrol car.

After being placed in restraints, she reportedly bit one deputy and spit on another.

The detention officer, who was attacked while Mitchell was being booked into custody, was taken to the hospital where they learned she suffered a broken nose and a concussion.
