WASHINGTON CO. GO TEXAN CONTINUES SATURDAY AT LA BAHIA HALL

Washington County Go Texan activities continue today (Saturday) at the La Bahia Hall.

Following the start of the Barbecue Cook-off Friday night, the winners of the brisket, ribs, chicken, and steak shoot-out contests will be announced, as well as the margarita, Bloody Mary, and jack pot bean contests.

Today’s events will also include live and silent auctions and a dance with the Risky Liver Band with a $10 cover charge.  The bar will be closed, but guests are invited to bring their own coolers.

For over 30 years, the Washington County Go Texan Committee has contributed over $800,000 in scholarship funds to Brenham and Burton High School seniors.  Last year’s event allowed the committee to award over $22,000 in scholarships and contribute to its Blinn Scholarship Endowments.

The La Bahia Hall is located outside of Burton at 550 Highway 237.  KTEX-106’s Holly Ryder will be at the La Bahia Hall starting at 7:30 p.m., in the friendly country cruiser.
