A Brenham man is in Harris County custody after authorities say he led them on a chase early this (Wednesday) morning in a stolen pickup truck.

Jeffrey Robertson
(Harris County Constable Precinct One)

According to the Harris County Precinct One Constable’s Office, deputies attempted to stop the driver of the truck around 1 a.m., for pulling a trailer with no lights and no license plate.

The suspect led authorities on a chase spanning roughly 20 minutes from Shepherd Drive to Veterans Memorial Boulevard and I-45.  During the pursuit, the truck’s trailer detached from the truck, and the driver eventually crashed in the 11300 block of I-45 North.

The suspect, identified as Jeffrey Robertson, tried to run away on foot, but was quickly apprehended by deputies and Houston police.

Robertson was charged with Felony Evading and Driving a Stolen Vehicle.  Police also found meth on Robertson, who was then additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.  Robertson has prior charges of Felony Evading, according to the Harris County Precinct One Constable’s Office.

The truck was determined to be stolen out of Galveston roughly a week ago.
