BRENHAM ISD 2ND PARENT UNIVERSITY THURSDAY NIGHT

Tonight (Thursday), Brenham ISD parents are invited to go back to school.

The 2nd Parent University is being held tonight from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the Brenham High School Auditorium.  The event was initially set for October 29th, but was rescheduled because of inclement weather.

The goal of Parent University is to increase meaningful parental involvement in public schools, and empower parents to raise children who grow to be successful in school and in life.  The event aims to provide knowledge and strategies that parents can use to enhance their role as student advocates, and provide emotional support throughout their child’s educational years.

Three topics will be covered by special guest speakers, including:

  • Dangers and Information on Vaping, Brenham High School Resource Officer Lance Weiss
  • Handling Peer Pressure and Bullying, Brenham ISD Social Emotional Coordinators Shawn Mays and Rebecca Wachsler
  • TED Talk on Parenting Best Practices, F.A.M.E. parent liaison Karem Chandler.

Childcare will be available, and refreshments will be provided by Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant.
