DISTINGUISHED BRENHAM ISD ALUMNUS, BUSINESS EXECUTIVE TO SPEAK SATURDAY AT BLACK HISTORY BREAKFAST
The Brenham Activist Association is hosting its 34th Annual Black History Breakfast Saturday at Blinn College.
The breakfast will be held at the Blinn College Student Center Banquet Room. Breakfast will be served starting at 8 a.m., with the program beginning at 9 a.m.
Saturday’s guest speaker will be Ronald Parker, President and CEO of the Executive Leadership Council in Plano, Texas. Parker has been a member of the organization, which represents global black senior executives at Fortune 1000 and equivalent companies, since 1994.
A 1972 graduate and distinguished alumnus of Brenham High School, Parker attended Blinn College and was selected by his peers as “Mr. Buccaneer” in 1973, and later chosen for the “Outstanding Alumnus” award in 2006.
Parker went on to Texas Christian University, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, and was later named an “Outstanding Alumnus” of TCU. Post-graduation, he attended The Harvard Business School Executive Leadership Development Program.
Parker has had a distinguished career as a business executive in the consumer packaged goods industry, and has demonstrated himself as a leader in many areas of corporate culture.
As the President and CEO of R&P Parker Holdings, LLC, Parker’s professional expertise has also included 30 years of Human Resources/Labor Relations experience with Pepsico. He has been the recipient of the Pepsico Global Diversity Award, has been noted as a Top Diversity Leader by Black Enterprise Magazine, and was recognized as the “Executive of the Year” by the New York Boys and Girls Club.
