BRENHAM POLICE OFFICER RECEIVES LIFE-SAVING AWARD

A Brenham police officer was honored at Brenham City Council Thursday for his efforts in saving a life.

Brenham Police Officer Andrew Adams was presented the Life Saving Award at the Brenham City Council's meeting Thursday, for his efforts to save the life of a contractor who had suffered a severe injury.

Officer Andrew Adams received the Life Saving Award in recognition of his valor and his efforts that saved the life of a contractor at Blinn College last summer.

Captain Lloyd Powell, who presented the award, said on August 21st, William Knight, while working at Blinn, cut himself on his wrist very severely.  Cpt. Powell said Adams was in the area and used a tourniquet to stop the bleeding.

Cpt. Powell said time was of the essence when Adams responded to the situation.

Adams said he happened to be in the right place at the right time, and he knows anyone else would have done the same thing.
