BRENHAM BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT APPROVES BISD REQUEST FOR NEW ACCESS, PARKING AT FFA AG FARM
The Brenham Board of Adjustment voted Monday to grant a special exception request from Brenham ISD to allow for a new access entrance and parking area for the district’s FFA Agriculture Farm.
The board unanimously approved the request to allow Brenham ISD to have a gravel drive and 60 foot by 100 foot parking area for the agriculture building, located at 227 Shepard Lane.
The school district, in its request to the board, stated that a growing number of non-traditional agricultural students, as well as FFA members that do not have the means to house an FFA project, has called for the revitalization of the facility and site.
The district will use a gravel surface for the driveways and parking areas instead of an all-weather surface in order to reduce costs and minimize disruption of the current landscape.
Also in session, board members elected Jon Hodde as board chair and Tom Painter as vice-chair for 2020.
