BRENHAM MAN TO RUN 100 LAPS AT HOHLT PARK TO RAISE FUNDS TO BATTLE CHILDHOOD CANCER

A Brenham man is looking to raise awareness for childhood cancer as he takes to the pathways at Hohlt Park.

Starting tomorrow (Thursday) morning and running through Friday morning, Troy Sikes will run and walk for 24 hours, with a goal to complete 100 laps at the park.  Sikes will arrive at the park tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m., beginning his run at 8 a.m. and wrapping up at 8 a.m. Friday morning.

Sikes says, through Adam’s Angels Ministry and friends, he has the names of 100 children battling childhood cancer.  He will pray each lap for a different child.

Sikes, who has been a runner for over 30 years, says he wanted to put his talents toward serving others.

Sikes says, in all his years of running, this will be his biggest challenge.

Anyone who would like to contribute to Sikes’ effort can either donate directly to Adam’s Angels Ministry at www.adamsangelsministry.org, or email tssikes@sbcglobal.net with either a per-lap pledge or flat donation.  Those looking to run or walk with Sikes are also welcome to do so.

More information on the run is available here.
