NAVASOTA HIGH SCHOOL EVACUATED BRIEFLY AMID BOMB THREAT
Navasota High School has allowed students and faculty to return to the classrooms, after they were evacuated in light of a bomb threat.
According to the Navasota ISD Facebook page, Navasota Police and the Fire Department were on the scene earlier this morning, as all students and personnel were ordered out of the building.
Navasota Police Chief Shawn Myatt says the building was evacuated after a note was found earlier this morning. According to Myatt, that note has since been deemed 'not credible' and everyone has been readmitted to the building.
The Navasota ISD earlier posted the following statement on Facebook:
Navasota High School received a bomb threat early this morning and is currently investigating whether the threat is credible. Students have been evacuated and we are currently working with Navasota Police and the Navasota Fire Department. For their safety, students are not allowed to leave at this time. We will post more information as it becomes available.
