SUSPECT IDENTIFIED, DETAILS RELEASED IN WALLER CO. HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION

Authorities in Waller County have released more information about a weekend homicide.

Joshua Glenn Craver
(Waller Co. Jail)

27-year-old Joshua Glenn Craver of Hockley is accused of shooting 42-year-old Harley Jo Williams.  Investigators and EMS personnel arrived Sunday afternoon around 2 p.m. at 25000 Winding Way, in the Lakeside subdivision of Hockley, and found Williams lying on the ground unresponsive with a gunshot wound.

Preliminary investigation led to authorities identifying Craver as the shooter.  Investigators say a confrontation occurred between the two earlier, and it was determined Craver fired a handgun at Williams.  Authorities said Craver immediately fled on foot, but was apprehended.

Craver was booked at the Waller County Jail, and is currently being held pending review by the Waller County District Attorney’s Office.  Craver is also being held under an outstanding warrant out of Gregg County, in northeast Texas.

The investigation is an ongoing collaboration between the Waller County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers.  The Sheriff’s Office said, at this time, no additional suspects are being sought.
