BURTON SOFTBALL WINS DISTRICT OPENER

 

The Burton Lady Panthers opened District 26/2A action with a convincing win, Wednesday afternoon.

The Lady Panthers rolled past the Iola Bulldogs 20-5 in 4 innings in their district opener at the Burton softball field.

Alea Smith picked up the win with five strikeouts over four innings.

Smith also helped herself out at the plate, going 3-for-4, including a three-run home run and six total runs batted in.

Michaela Wilke went 2-for-4, with three RBI’s.

The Lady Panthers (1-1/1-0) will host the Burton Softball Tournament, Thursday-thru-Saturday.
