SOUTH TEXAS POLKA AND SAUSAGE FEST MARCH 20-22 IN HALLETTSVILLE

The Hallettsville Knights of Columbus invite everyone next month to come on down Highway 77 for a full weekend of food, fun, music, and fellowship.

The 41st Annual South Texas Polka and Sausage Fest, held each year on the weekend of the fourth Sunday of March, is set this year from March 20th to the 22nd at the Hallettsville K.C. Hall, at 321 Highway 77 South.

Friday night begins with a fish fry starting at 5 p.m., followed by an evening of Polka music with the Czechaholics and the Moravians. Festivities continue on Saturday with a Polka mass at 3 p.m., with a meal of sausage, sauerkraut, potatoes, chicken noodle soup, and kolaches served afterwards.  The Dujka Brothers and Jodie Mikula will provide entertainment from 5 to 11 p.m.

Sunday’s activities begin at 10:30 a.m. with the same food menu as Saturday, with the addition of fried chicken. Music continues throughout the day with the Shiner Hobo Band, the Red Ravens, Ennis Czech Boys, and Mark Halata and Texavia.  All bands will join together in the late afternoon for a concert.

In addition to all of the festivities, the 4th Annual “South Texas Polka Hall of Fame” inductees will be announced.

Tickets are $10 per person on Friday and Saturday, and $12 per person on Sunday. Weekend passes for $30 are available.

Proceeds from the festival benefit the Sacred Heart Catholic School Athletic program. The project has raised thousands of dollars for the school.
