TRIAL DELAYED FOR ACCUSED ‘TEXTING’ ACCIDENT SUSPECT
The Brazos County trial of a man accused of killing a father and daughter as he texted while driving, has been delayed.

35-year old Brandon Chase Bowers of Houston is charged with two counts of Manslaughter for the deaths of 65-year old Charles Swist and 32-year old Madora Swist on State Highway 6, in November of 2018.
Bowers’ jury trial had been slated to begin Monday in Bryan , but has been postponed indefinitely.
According to the Department of Public Safety, Madora Swist’s vehicle had run out of gas south of College Station, when her father arrived to help refuel.
DPS, reports that Bowers struck both victims and their vehicles while he admits he was texting on his cell phone.
Three children, ages 10, six and one, who were in Madora Swist’s vehicle were not injured.
Bowers remains free on $50,000 bond.
A new trial date has not been set at this time.
