BURTON HERITAGE SOCIETY TO CELEBRATE 10TH ANNUAL TEXAS RANGER DAY MARCH 21ST
Preparations are underway for the 10th Annual Texas Ranger Day in downtown Burton.
Hosted by the Burton Heritage Society, the event is set for March 21st from noon to 5 p.m., and allows visitors to experience authentic 1880’s Texas Ranger camp life, with folk life demonstrations and weapons displays.
There will also be live re-enactments by the Legends of the Texas Rangers and Old West Rangers, as well as tours of the 1898 Burton Railroad Depot and the farmers gin at the Texas Cotton Gin Museum.
Other activities will include the Annie Maud Avis Memorial Fajita and Beans Cook-off, music by Kountry Chick DJ and special guest Robert Zientek, crafts, vendors, kid’s games, and the Lil Mr. and Miss Ranger Contest at 1 p.m.
Admission is free for the event. Tickets for all-you-can-eat fajitas and beans are $10 for adults, and $5 for children ages 5 to 10. All proceeds will benefit the historic Mount Zion Chapel restoration project.
