YELLOW ROSE BOOT SCOOT IN BRENHAM CANCELLED DUE TO GROWING CORONAVIRUS CONCERNS
An upcoming event in Brenham to support research for inflammatory breast cancer has been cancelled due to concerns about the new coronavirus.
The Yellow Rose Boot Scoot, being put on by the IBC Network Foundation, was set for April 4th at the Rockin Star Ranch in Brenham, but was cancelled under the direction of the Foundation’s medical advisors.
Terry Arnold of the IBC Network Foundation says event organizers were sensitive to the fact that many people are concerned about the virus, and that events are being cancelled across the country due to those worries. She says the event was cancelled out of respect for the concerns regarding the virus.
While Arnold believes the threat to the Brenham community is minimal, she says organizers want to air on the side of caution.
This is the first event in Brenham cancelled in light of the coronavirus. Late Friday, organizers of the popular South by Southwest music and arts festival in downtown Austin announced the cancellation of the event, citing worries about the virus.
A new date for the event will be announced and released as soon as possible.
