TEXAS A&M CANCELS CLASSES MONDAY, TUESDAY

Texas A&M University has cancelled the first two days of class next week to plan around the novel coronavirus.

Students are currently on break for Spring Break, which runs through Friday.  However, classes will now resume next Wednesday, March 18th.

According to university officials, the cancellation will allow for planning and logistics to ensure school services are provided “in the most efficient, effective, and safest way”.

Faculty and staff will still need to report in to work on Monday and Tuesday.  The university’s dining, transportation, health, counseling, and other services will be available on a normal schedule.

The university says there are no plans to cancel future classes beyond March 17th, and that it is not requiring that all courses move to an online format at this time.

Texas A&M announced Monday it would be cancelling school-sponsored travel outside of the United States between March 16th and May 1st.

The university adds there have been no cases of coronavirus reported at Texas A&M, and no students who are presenting any symptoms, including those few individuals who returned from CDC Level 2 and 3 countries.
