WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO CONSIDER INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH CITY OF BRENHAM

Washington County Commissioners will vote on an interlocal agreement between the county and the City of Brenham at their scheduled meeting Tuesday.

The agreement, according to County Judge John Durrenberger, was developed so that officials with the City of Brenham—specifically, Brenham Economic Development Director Susan Cates—can speak with commissioners in executive session.

Cates talked with commissioners at their last meeting about an ongoing economic development project called “Silver Crayon”, but was unable to speak much on it in open session, stating it is still a “confidential and competitive project”.

Commissioners will also meet in executive session to seek the advice of counsel for pending or contemplated litigation—pursuant to Texas Government Code—before reopening regular session to act upon any action considered necessary.  Durrenberger could not say if this item pertained to the unresolved matter of medical services at the Washington County Jail.

Commissioners will also consider:

  • Providing a mental health first aid class to all county employees.
  • Authorization for the County Engineer to purchase one new wheel loader through BuyBoard, a state approved cooperative purchasing vendor.
  • Approval of an extension of contractor agreement between the county and Revenue Optimization Solutions, LLC.
  • A right-of-way permit for the Head for the Hills Bike Ride.
  • Using General Technology funds to pay for the invoice from the City of Brenham for fiber network improvements.
  • Monthly reports from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, EMS, E-911, Road and Bridge, Information Technology, and Veterans Service Officer.

Commissioners are scheduled to meet Tuesday morning at 9 a.m., at the Washington County Courthouse.
