FATAL SHOOTING UNDER INVESTIGATION IN GRIMES CO.

  

The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a weekend shooting death in a rural location south of Anderson.

Investigators were dispatched Saturday night to County Road 215, near FM 1774.

Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell said investigators have a person of interest who was detained for questioning and is fully cooperating in the homicide investigation.

Grimes County Sheriff’s investigators are working with the Grimes County District Attorney’s Office to determine if any criminal charges will be filed.

The identity of the deceased or of the suspected gunman has not been released.  Authorities say there is no threat to the public, as this was an isolated incident.
