WALLER CO. LAUNCHES ESSENTIAL ITEM DELIVERY PROGRAM FOR HOMEBOUND RESIDENTS
Homebound residents in Waller County now have another resource to help with pickup and delivery of essential items over the next two weeks.
The Waller County Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney’s Office are partnering to lead a program where reserve deputies and investigators will provide items like prescribed medication, medical devices, special dietary needs, and healthcare equipment to those that are homebound.
District Attorney Elton Mathis said it is important the elderly and sick know there are resources they can trust to provide basic food and medicine without worrying about theft or scams.
The program will operate Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. until March 27th. The program is limited to essential needs from Waller County stores and pharmacies.
To sign up for the program, contact the Waller County Sheriff’s Office at 979-826-8282, and provide a name and address. Those looking to take part in the program will also need to order and make payment arrangements with the pharmacy, store, or business that will provide their essential items.
If there is a quarantine or isolation, participants will also have to identify where the items can be dropped off and provide a phone number where they can be reached.
