BLINN LIMITING ON-CAMPUS WORK RESPONSIBILITIES; NO PLANS TO EXTEND SCHOOL CLOSURE BEYOND MONDAY

Blinn College is implementing some additional restrictions to help stop the potential spread of COVID-19 as it prepares to reopen campuses Monday.

The College will begin limiting on-campus work responsibilities to those who must work on campus to complete their duties between Monday, March 23rd and Friday, May 1st.  Personnel with the ability to work remotely or work from home will complete their 40-hour work week with alternating work schedules from home and on-site, based on business needs.

The College hopes that, by providing this blanket guidance for a period of certainty, personnel can focus resources on other challenges, rather than reacting to potential changes in business operations on a weekly basis.  As Blinn practices social distancing to prevent the possible spread of the virus, personnel are asked to coordinate with their supervisor regarding their work hours.

In addition to encouraging working remotely and implementing flexible work schedules, Blinn is restricting nonessential intercampus travel and limiting face-to-face meetings to fewer than ten people, in accordance with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  The College asks, whenever possible, for personnel to utilize online meeting tools in place of face-to-face meetings.

Further communication and updates will be available online at www.blinn.edu/alert/emergency-preparedness.html.
