WASHINGTON CO. 4-H, FFA ESTABLISH FUNDRAISER FOR YOUTH UNABLE TO SHOW PROJECTS AT RODEOS
In an effort to help the 50 or so Washington County 4-H and FFA livestock exhibitors that were unable to show their projects at the spring rodeos in Houston and Austin, volunteers have set up the Washington County Major Show Recovery Fundraiser.
The goal of the group of volunteers is to collect funds to help offset expenses and losses associated with the missed opportunities to show and sell. All donations collected will be evenly distributed to all eligible 4-H and FFA exhibitors who complete the exhibitor submission process by April 15th.
Eligible exhibitors must have entered by the original entry deadline through Washington County 4-H, Brenham FFA, or Burton FFA to show a market livestock project at the 2020 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo or Rodeo Austin.
To request funds, exhibitors will need to go online to https://washington.agrilife.org/2020exhibitorrequest and submit a picture of themselves with their project, a picture of the major show validation tag or wing band, and a narrative about their project and how support from this fund would help them.
Exhibitors will only be able to receive proceeds from the fund one time. There will be no additional payments for multiple projects.
Anyone interested in donating to the fundraiser can do so by contacting Brenham or Burton Ag Science Teachers, the Washington County Extension Office, or going online to https://washington.agrilife.org/donate.
