Brenham High School’s head athletic trainer is staying quite busy during the coronavirus pandemic.

Jamie Woodall and her husband Josh are creating much-needed masks for medical personnel.  The couple began the project after learning about the lack of supplies available for nurses and physicians.

Jamie is the Brenham ISD head athletic trainer, while Josh is the head athletic trainer and assistant athletic director for the Bryan ISD.

Jamie Woodall says they began the project after reaching out to her sister, a labor and delivery nurse in Harker Heights, and her sister-in-law, a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit nurse in College Station.

Woodall says she contacted a Bryan fabric shop that provided the fabric and kits to make the masks.  She says she has a lot of colorful fabric, which can also brighten someone’s day.

The Woodalls are working from home, and although they just started making masks this week, they’ve already received messages from nurses and athletic trainers, who are working at local hospitals, requesting masks.

Jamie said since posting her mask prototypes to Twitter on Sunday, she has received numerous requests for masks from medical personnel.

With schools, sports and many businesses on hold because of the coronavirus outbreak, she says it can be a stressful time for most, but there are many ways to help out.
