FOUR CASES OF COVID-19 CONFIRMED IN AUSTIN CO.

Austin County now has four confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Austin County Judge Tim Lapham said, as of Tuesday evening, there are now four confirmed cases in the county, all in the Sealy area.  Three of the four cases are connected, with one male in his 50s not connected to the other three.

The first case in Austin County was reported March 24th in a Sealy woman, who said Tuesday that her brother who lives nearby has also tested positive.

Due to COVID-19, the City of Sealy has closed all parks, which includes their restrooms, playgrounds, baseball fields, batting cages, and basketball courts.  Walking trails remain open.

Lapham previously said he does not intend to close down the county, saying that decision would have a detrimental effect on businesses and employees.  He asked that residents continue to practice social distancing and stay home as much as possible.
