REWARD OFFERED FOR ROUND TOP STATE BANK ROBBERY

  

$7,500 in rewards are being offered for information leading to an arrest in a theft at a Round Top Bank.

Fayette County Crime Stoppers and the Texas Bankers Foundation are seeking help in finding those responsible for the burglary of an ATM machine at Round Top State Bank in Round Top, early Sunday morning.

Just before 1:30 a.m., three suspects used a stolen pickup and chain to break into the ATM and steal approximately $40,000 in cash.

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek says the suspects were “proficient” in breaching the ATM, as the robbery took only about two minutes.

The stolen pickup was recovered a short distance from the theft.

Fayette County Crimestoppers is offering $2500 in reward money, while the Bankers Federation is offering a reward of $5000.
