FOUR ARRESTED AFTER BODY DISCOVERED IN GRIMES COUNTY
Four men have been arrested in connection with human remains discovered in Grimes County, Tuesday.
The body, believed to be 21-year-old Zuhyr Kaleem of Katy, was exhumed from a shallow grave in a field near Todd Mission.
Kaleem was last seen leaving a fitness center in Katy on the evening of April 26, 2019. His family reported him missing exactly one year ago, April 28 of last year.
Harris County authorities arrested 21-year old Jose Varela, 21-year old Austin Walker and 22-year old Eric Aguilar and charged them with capital murder. Grimes County authorities also charged 23-year old Gannon Gotlieb with tampering with evidence or a human body.
During the course of the year-long investigation, authorities say they found evidence that Kaleem was murdered during a drug deal and his body was disposed of elsewhere.
The investigation was a joint operation between the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Gimes County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
