BELLVILLE MEDICAL CENTER TO OPEN TRI-COUNTY ER IN SEALY

The Bellville Medical Center (BMC) has announced its plans to open a new remote emergency facility at the south end of Austin County.

Tri-County ER is scheduled to open May 11th in Sealy at 1036 North Circle Drive, Suite 102, just north of Highway 90.  The new facility will be a full emergency room with on-site imaging and laboratory services, and will be staffed around the clock by board-certified or board-eligible physicians and emergency medicine nurses.

Patients of all ages can be treated, and ambulance patients will be accepted.  In addition, as a campus of BMC, Tri-County ER will accept Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and private payments.

Austin County Judge Tim Lapham said the county is excited to have a new health resource in the Sealy area, saying “a local option for healthcare benefits all residents”.  Austin County EMS Chief Walter Morrow said the southern portion of the county has lacked this type of service in the past, so this will serve to “accommodate the future growth of the county”.

Sealy Mayor Janice Whitehead said this is “a welcome enhancement” to the city’s current medical facilities, adding that as the community is constantly changing, it will be great to have a 24-hour emergency facility open once again in Sealy.
