FAYETTE CO. JUDGE REACTS TO GOVERNOR’S COVID-19 ORDERS
Fayette Co. Judge Joe Weber has addressed the announcement by Governor Greg Abbott of the relaxing of some of the executive orders concerning the conronavirus.
Abbot announced the initiation of Phase I of Texas’s reopening of non-essential businesses in an effort to begin the safe process of eventually returning all residents to work, beginning Friday.
Weber says the Governor’s document is laid out extremely well and easy to navigate for both business owners and customers in determining which protocols are applicable for specific types of businesses and organizations.
Weber says he believes it will prove extremely helpful to business owners and will answer some of the questions they will have.
He adds that the document also includes good information on resources available to businesses as well as information on what lies ahead for reopening schools throughout the state and education in general.
Weber also says the Fayette Co. Ag Extension Service has also put out a COVID-19 Federal Response Resource Matrix available on its website and the county’s which should prove informative and helpful.
Confirmed COVID-19 cases in Fayette County remain at 16 with active cases now down to 5.
With the state’s reopening Friday, Weber says the county courthouse and other county offices and services begin their movement back to normal operations. Beginning Friday morning, the east-side (main) entrance of the courthouse will be unlocked for employees and people requiring services within the courthouse itself. All other courthouse entrances will remain locked.
I’ll take Judge Durrenberger any day of the week. Not that it applies to Weber but anyone can follow the crowd into economic oblivion and sacrificing freedom for security. These days you are rewarded for doing that. Thankfully we live in a county where our leadership has the courage and fortitude to keep panic and fear mongering in check. WC has a much bigger pop and diverse economy with highly participatory citizens.
I sure wish we had this guy as county judge for Washington County!
He has done an EXCELLENT JOB at being proactive towards keeping the coronavirus numbers low in Fayette county. Keep up the great work Judge Joe Weber!
