WASHINGTON CO. COVID-19 CASES NOW AT 146; VIDEO STATEMENT TO BE RELEASED THURSDAY BY LOCAL HEALTH AUTHORITY

  

Washington County confirmed five new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday afternoon, bringing the county’s confirmed total to 146 and its active total to 112.

Wednesday’s reported cases are all in Brenham women, one in her 20s, two in their 30s, one in her 40s, and one in her 90s.  One of the women is currently hospitalized.

Of the 146 positive cases, at least 106 are from institutional facilities, including both residents and employees of those facilities.  At least 99 cases are in patients over the age of 60.

Fifteen COVID-19 patients have died, with 13 of those having been linked to one facility, previously identified as the Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Four of the 112 active cases are currently hospitalized.  Nineteen patients have recovered.

Washington County Health Authority Dr. William Loesch will address the community in a video statement this (Thursday) morning.  The video update is expected to be released around 10 a.m.
