BRENHAM MAIFEST ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES TARGET DATE FOR 2020 CELEBRATION; BIRTHDAY PARADE STILL ON FOR SATURDAY

The Brenham Maifest Association has announced a target date for this year’s celebration.

Brenham Maifest Association President Catherine Kenjura says, as long as conditions are safe to do so, the 130th Maifest parade and coronation will be held on October 3rd.

Maifest participants and community members are still invited to take part in tomorrow’s (Saturday) 130th Birthday Parade on the courthouse square in downtown Brenham from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

The no-contact parade will feature parade participants with costumes and decorated vehicles.  This year’s Maifest Kings and Queens and their families will be at the four corners of the courthouse.

Participants are asked to line up on Main Street at Market Street in the left-hand lane.  They will drive by the courthouse, turning left onto North Park Street and then the left-hand lane of Alamo Street.  They are also asked to stay in their car, as there will be no contact with each other or with the Maifest families.

For every vehicle that comes through the parade, the Maifest Association will donate $5 up to a total of $5,000 to the City of Brenham small business fund, as well as local first responders and healthcare workers.
