BURLESON CO. HIGH SCHOOLS MAKE GRADUATION PLANS
Three Burleson County high schools plan to hold their graduations as scheduled, but will be taking precautions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the Burleson County Tribune, all three are awaiting any mandates by the Texas Education Association, which could alter the dates.
Snook High School is still planning to hold graduation Friday, May 22nd at its new football stadium, allowing attendees to spread out in compliance with social distancing.
If the TEA rules against a May graduation, Snook has set June 26th as a possible alternate date.
Somerville High School plans on holding graduation Saturday, May 30th. The ceremony would be held at The Rock football stadium instead of the high school’s gymnasium.
Somerville’s alternate date is July 18th at The Rock.
Caldwell High School is planning on holding its May, 29th graduation in the high school parking lot, enlieu of Texas A&M’s Rudder Auditorium.
Each graduate would receive two tickets, each allowing a vehicle into the lot, which holds 212 vehicles. The graduates would then receive their diplomas on a portable stage. The graduation would also be broadcast on Facebook.
