The council at its meeting Tuesday welcomed new members Jason Schoenvogel and Allen “Buck” Oliphant.  The two are replacing previous councilmembers Jeff Eckhardt and Dale Schwartz, respectively, after Eckhardt and Schwartz did not run for re-election.  The council also swore in incumbent Tommie Gilmon for another term.

Also during session Tuesday, the council appointed Nathan Kalkhake as mayor pro-tem and reappointed City Secretary Angela Harrington as municipal court judge.

The lawn maintenance ordinance, encouraging the cutting of grass that becomes a nuisance, was removed from the agenda after discussion by councilmembers.  The ordinance had been tabled the last three times it was discussed by the council.

Councilmembers also approved a resolution authorizing the mayor to sign and execute a division order regarding the Hielscher 1H well with GeoSouthern Operating II, LLC.  The city is being offered a decimal interest, and a resolution authorizing the mayor to execute the division order was required.  The council also approved accepting the audit of seizure funds, as required by the code of criminal procedure.
