FORMER BRENHAM ISD TEACHER/COACH INDICTED BY LOCAL GRAND JURY

  

A former Brenham High School coach has been indicted by the Washington County Grand Jury.

At their May 12^th meeting, the 21^st Grand Jury indicted 29-year old Ian Calandra on charges of Improper Relationship Between an Educator and Student and Indecency With a Child by Contact.

Calandra, who now lives in his native Jourdanton, south of San Antonio, was an assistant coach for the Cubette Volleyball and Basketball teams.  According to authorities, he was charged for an incident that occurred in early 2019.

According to the local District Attorney’s Office, the case is being handled by a Special Prosecutor from the Brazos County District Attorney’s Office.

Also indicted in this month’s grand jury sessions:

24-year old James Charles Daniels, Jr., of Brenham on three charges: Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon, Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon and Assault of a Family Member Impede Breath

33-year old Melvin Saul Moore of Brenham on two counts: Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon and  Assault Family Violence Impede Breath/Circulation.

24-year old Albany Cooper of Brenham on two counts of Injury to Child-Criminal Negligence.

29-year old Amadeo Arce of Brenham, Assault Family Impede Breath/Circulation

58-year old Wilton E. Lockett of Brenham, Accident Involving Injury (Fail to Stop and Render Aid).

66-year old William Mueller, Jr. of Montgomery and  41-year old Martin Rodriguez of Brenham, Driving While Intoxicated 3^rd or More Offense.

22-year old John Wylee Tyler Edenfield and 28-year old Dylan James Sloan, both of Brenham, Forgery of a Financial Instrument.

19-year old Matthew Aaron Sain of Cypress, Theft of Firearm

56-year old Jim Anderson of Waller, Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon

And six people have been indicted for felony Possession of Controlled Substance: 23-year old Rayne Morgan Cardenas of Houston, 38-year old Rita Joyce Fentress of Bellville, 22-year old Rene Juarez, Jr. of Brenham, 26-year old Ryan Matthew Martinez of Austin, 23-year old Carlos Ortiz of Brenham and 21-year old Dustin Arnold Weiss of Caldwell.
