COVID-19 RECOVERIES NOW AT 112 AS WASHINGTON CO. REPORTS TWO NEW CASES MONDAY

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Washington County continues to decline as more and more recoveries are reported.

This (Monday) afternoon, the county confirmed two new cases in one man and one woman, one from Brenham and one from the old Washington area, in their 30s and 40s.  The two are among the county’s 73 active cases, which include five patients that are hospitalized.  Twenty-seven patients have died from complications with the virus.

After 19 new recoveries were reported, the county now has 112 recovered cases, well over half of the county’s 212 total positive cases.  Sixteen of the latest recoveries were reported in patients at the Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (BNRC), which now has 56 total recoveries.

Now, 31 of the BNRC’s 111 positive cases—which consist of 87 residents and 24 employees—are active.  None of the facility’s COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, while 24 have died.

As of today, the county has performed an estimated 2,336 COVID-19 tests, 223 of them coming from the BNRC.
