BSW-BRENHAM MEDICAL CENTER FEATURED IN NURSING MAGAZINE FOR “PATHWAY TO EXCELLENCE” DESIGNATION
Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Brenham was recently featured in a national nursing magazine after being recognized in August by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
On August 20, 2019, the medical center achieved Pathway to Excellence designation from the ANCC, a designation highlighting positive work environments for nurses.
Last month, the hospital was featured for the accomplishment in American Nurse, the national magazine of the American Nurses Association. The article was authored by Pathway program and Magnet® coordinator Betsy Fritz, bringing recognition to several nurses in Brenham during 2020, the year of the nurse.
The Pathway to Excellence designation is based on six practice standards: shared decision-making, leadership, safety, quality, well-being, and professional development. To receive the distinction, an organization must successfully undergo a review that documents quality initiatives that create a positive work environment. These initiatives must be integrated into the facility’s practices, policies, and culture.
Baylor Scott and White – College Station Region President Jason Jennings said the healthcare organization strives to “cultivate an environment where nurses realize they are an integral part of our team and feel empowered to reach their full potential”.
College Station Region Chief Nursing Officer Amber Reed said the organization is proud of its nursing staff and leaders who dedicate themselves to implementing practices and programs to support a Pathway to Excellence environment.
