FUNERAL SERVICE SET FOR GRIMES CO. DEPUTY

Funeral services will be held Thursday for a Grimes County Sheriff’s sergeant who died over the weekend.
Sgt. Jim Adkins passed away Saturday night at his home in Navasota.
Services will be held Thursday at the Union Grove Baptist Church in Richards.
Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell commended Adkins work at the Grimes County jail, where he worked as jail sergeant, saying he was the go-to man to resolve any problem and that many have learned under his watchful eye.
Sowell said many people have reached out to his office, extending sympathies and prayers.
