ONE ACTIVE COVID-19 CASE REMAINING AT BRENHAM NURSING AND REHAB; ONE NEW CASE, ONE DEATH REPORTED MONDAY

The Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (BNRC) has nearly cleared itself of all COVID-19 cases, as the number of recoveries in Washington County continues to rise.

With Monday’s reported numbers from the Washington County Joint Information Center (JIC), it was determined that the BNRC has only one remaining active case of COVID-19.  Twelve new recoveries were reported Monday at the facility, which has a total case count of 111, consisting of 87 residents and 24 employees.  The remaining case is not hospitalized.  Twenty-four patients at the facility have died.

County-wide, a single case of COVID-19 was confirmed Monday in a Brenham woman in her 40s, bringing the county’s positive case count to 222 and the active count to 45.  The county also confirmed its 28th patient death, which it said occurred at the end of May.

After 16 new recoveries were reported Monday, the county now has 149 recovered patients.  Four patients remain hospitalized.

As of Monday, the county has performed an estimated 2,336 COVID-19 tests, 223 of them at the BNRC.
