CREWS EXTINGUISH LOCAL FIRE

The Brenham and Meyersville Fire Departments teamed up to extinguish a blaze Monday night.

Just before 10:00 p.m., firefighters were called out to a fire in a metal building located behind BK Automotive in the 2700 block of State Highway 105.

At the scene, they found smoke coming from the roof of a metal building.  Inside, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from a vehicle.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze that destroyed one vehicle and resulted in smoke and fire damage to the building.  The department used a fan to remove the smoke from the building.

Units were at the scene for approximately an hour and a half.  No one was injured.  The fire did not affect the business, as it did not occur there.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
