SIX NEW COVID-19 CASES BRING WASHINGTON CO. UP TO 251 TOTAL, 62 ACTIVE
The recent increase in COVID-19 cases continues in Washington County with an additional six cases reported Friday.
The six cases were confirmed in three men and three women, five from Brenham and one from the old Washington area, ranging in age from their teens to their 40s. This brings the county’s total case count to 251 and its active count to 62. Three patients are currently hospitalized, while 158 have recovered.
The county also reported another death related to COVID-19—the county’s 31st—but Washington County Joint Information Center (JIC) officials said they were only just notified by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) of the death, which occurred at the end of May.
Numbers at the Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (BNRC) are unchanged from Wednesday’s new case report; two cases remain active of the 112 positive cases, made up of 87 residents and 25 employees. Neither of the active cases are hospitalized. The facility has had 86 patient recoveries and 24 deaths.
As of Friday, the county has performed an estimated 3,995 COVID-19 tests, 223 at the BNRC.
